Privacy Policy

How Luxemetry handles your data. Short version: the calculators run entirely in your browser and we never see what you type into them.

Effective date: September 14, 2026

This policy explains what information Luxemetry ("we", "us") collects when you use https://luxemetry.com, how it is used, and what choices you have.

1. Data controller

The data controller responsible for this site is:

  • Business name: 태계랩 (Taegye Lab)
  • Representative: 변승환 (Byeon Seung-hwan)
  • Business registration number: 104-30-21338
  • Address: 인천광역시 강화군 길상면 해안남로 368, 204호 (368, Haeannam-ro, Gilsang-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, Republic of Korea)
  • Email: hello@taegye.com

2. Information you give us directly

There are no member accounts or online sign-ups. You can contact us by email, choose to submit a VIN for a vehicle lookup, or enter approximate coordinates for the yacht marine-conditions snapshot. A submitted VIN passes through our server to NHTSA; the decoded vehicle year, make and model are used to query FuelEconomy.gov; entered coordinates are sent to our server and on to Open-Meteo. Lookup responses may be cached, and requests may appear in provider or hosting logs.

Calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser. Our application code does not submit the values you enter — such as vehicle prices, down payments, rates, or mileage assumptions — to a server, and we do not store them on our servers. Saving a worksheet keeps its name, figures, and optional catalogue model in this browser’s local storage until you remove it. Choosing to move an estimate from a calculator into Deal Desk uses this tab’s session storage: the transfer is read once and expires after 30 minutes. Hosting and analytics providers may still receive the standard technical signals described below when their services are active.

The optional VIN lookup sends the VIN to our lookup endpoint to retrieve vehicle information from public data services, including NHTSA. A VIN is not included in our product analytics events.

If you contact us by email, we receive whatever you include in that message and retain it only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the correction or request.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. If optional analytics are enabled with your consent, they may also measure:

  • IP address, in truncated or anonymized form where supported
  • Browser type, operating system, and device category
  • Pages visited, time on page, and referring website
  • The merchant, asset category, and source page of a marked affiliate click
  • Product actions such as using filters, opening a comparison or report, saving a worksheet locally, and clicking a launch-alert email link
  • Approximate location derived from IP, at country or region level

This is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and to keep the site working. It is not used to build a profile of you as an individual. Product events contain fixed action labels and page placements, never calculator values, worksheet names, VINs, email addresses, or typed search terms. Query strings and fragments are removed from the page URLs sent to this analytics provider. An email-link click records interest only, not a completed sign-up or purchase.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use, or may enable, cookies and browser storage in two categories:

  • Strictly necessary. The lx-region cookie described in section 6, which records only whether your country is one where we withhold optional analytics by default. A previously stored analytics preference, if one exists in this browser from an earlier visit, is kept in local storage so we can continue to honour it.
  • Analytics. Aggregate usage measurement through Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless and records page views and referrers without storing an identifier for you personally. When you follow a marked affiliate link, it may also record the merchant, asset category, and source page — never the values entered into a calculator. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it does not load unless this browser already has a stored accept. Everywhere else it loads unless you previously declined or your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

We do not show a cookie consent banner and there is no Cookie settings control in the footer. You can still clear site data or block cookies through your browser. The calculators work identically either way.

5. Advertising and affiliate links

This site does not serve display advertising. Google AdSense was rejected and has been abandoned: we do not load the AdSense script, we do not place Auto ads, and we do not authorize an AdSense publisher in ads.txt.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline of optional analytics without asking you to click anything.

Some outbound links are clearly marked as partner or affiliate links. If you follow one and complete a qualifying purchase or booking, the merchant may pay us a commission without adding a fee charged by Luxemetry. Once you follow the link, the merchant receives the standard technical information needed to deliver its site, which can include your IP address, browser details, the referring page, and its own affiliate identifier. The merchant applies its own privacy policy and consent controls from that point onward. See our affiliate disclosure.

6. Where optional analytics load, and where they do not

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland do not load optional analytics unless this browser already has a stored accept from an earlier visit. We no longer prompt for a new choice. Elsewhere analytics load by default unless you previously declined or send Global Privacy Control.

To tell those cases apart we read the country our host resolves from your IP address at the network edge and store the result in a strictly necessary cookie named lx-region. That cookie holds only the value eu or row — never your country, your IP address, or anything else about you — and it expires after a day. If the country cannot be resolved we assume the stricter path.

7. Legal basis for processing (EEA and UK)

Where the GDPR applies, we process strictly necessary data on the basis of legitimate interest in operating a functional website. Optional analytics in those regions load only if this browser already has a stored accept; you may withdraw that by clearing site data. We do not process advertising data.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, object to or restrict its processing, request portability, and withdraw consent previously given. Residents of California have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what is collected and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

To exercise any right, email hello@taegye.com. Because we hold almost no identifiable data, most requests can be resolved quickly.

9. Data retention and security

Aggregate analytics data is retained on a rolling basis and is not linked to identifiable individuals. Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary. The site is served over HTTPS. Calculator values you type stay in your browser, where you may choose to save a worksheet; the two optional lookups (a VIN, or coordinates for the marine snapshot) pass through our server to the named public data providers. Lookup responses may be cached and requests may appear in provider or hosting logs.

10. Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

The site is hosted on infrastructure that may process data in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, our providers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

12. Payments

Checkout is not open. When a Buying Pass is sold, payments are planned to be collected by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers. Lemon Squeezy processes the charge, tax, and payout under its own privacy terms. We receive the email and order reference needed to attach a pass to an account once member sign-in exists.

A launch-alert email you send us is correspondence, not a purchase. See refunds and terms.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
